Reminder on Rules & Regulation (EE Department)

Dear PG-EE students,

Please adhere to these guidelines and R&R.

1.       Attire

 
a.       During official GA work / invigilation : - MUST be of OFFICE ATTIRE (no exception)

b.      Other than that: - NO round neck T-Shirt and NO slippers / sandals (no excuse)

 
2.       GA hours

a.       All GA / GRA schemes : 9 hours (from 8am to 5pm) everyday M-F except weekends and public holidays (verified by the thumb print attendance)

b.      Must get the GA / GRA forms signed and submit to Miss Ayu by 16th of each month. Late submission will not be entertained.

3.       Paper submission: (Minimum requirement by EE dept)

a.       MSc : 1 ISI journal paper & 1 SCOPUS conference paper

b.      PhD : 1 ISI journal paper, 1 ISI with impact factor journal paper & 2 SCOPUS conference papers

 Please take note that this requirement is determined by EE Department and beyond what CGS is required.

I will update again if there are any changes.

Nanotechnology MOR would like to your assistance to allocated 4-5 PG students for this semester (Jan 2014) to help our Center Of Innovative Nanostructures and Nanodevices (COINNS) to compile information for center audit scheduled in April 2014. Appreciate if you request the students to attend the first coordination meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) at DSC meeting room, Block P ( level 1) at 9 AM. However, if the students are not able to attend the meeting tomorrow, please email the details of the students to me for follow up.

I would like to inform that there will be no symposium (paper presentation) for September 2013 semester.
What you have to do is to only submit the progress report marks of your PG students.
 
1.       Students who registered in September 2013 but not yet passed RPD, supervisor to refer to this form à 52A
2.       Other students, refer to this form à 52B
3.       This includes students who submitted thesis and passed RCS (for PhD) in September 2013 semester.
 
Please submit the marks through online to Mr Azman’s database system by 28/02/2014.
Mr Azman will inform when the system will be available for updating.

Camfil Caring Week 2014

Dear colleagues

Greetings from Faculty of Engineering!

Kindly be informed that Camfil Malaysia Sdn Bhd, one of the world leading organization in the development and production of air filters and clean air solution, is organizing “Camfil Caring Week 2014” on 23rd January 2014. They have extended invitation to our staff and students to visit their organization on the said date. 

It would be an invaluable learning experience that our students can be exposed to latest air solutions technologies and to have a tour at their plant.

Date                      : Thursday, 23rd January 2014
Time                      : 9.00am to 12.00pm
Venue                  : Camfil Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Batu Gajah
Seats                     : Limit to 40 persons and on First Come First Serve basis!

The Faculty of Engineering will arrange UTP transportation for the said visit.   Should you and your students are interested for the trip, please inform me or Mr Mior by 2nd January 2014.

ONLINE COURSE REGISTRATION FOR JANUARY 2014 SEMESTER - POSTGRADUATE

Dear all postgraduate students,
 
Referring to the email below, kindly bring the attached ‘PG Student Details Verification’ form completely filled with your supervisor signature’s to CGS along with your registration summary slip to CGS counter in person (any representative is not allowed). Make sure you will get a receipt from the personnel at the counter as a prove that you already submitted the mentioned form. If there is any issue, we will contact you through email.
 
It is COMPULSORY to all On-Campus students by research to verified your registration to avoid any adverse circumstances.
 
*You may get the printed copy of the PG Student Details Verification form in CGS office counter.

I would like to take to this opportunity to make an announcement on CGS counter service to all of PG students eventhough we already put a few notices in our office. Please be inform that :
 
1)      Students are not permitted into CGS office without prior ‘Appointment Slip’ and authorization of the CGS personnel at the reception counter.
 
2)      All calls must be made through the personnel at the reception counter.
 
3)      All submission of forms must be made at the reception counter ONLY (make sure the forms are completely filled as required)
 
4)      CGS office operate from :-
 
                9.00am – 12.30pm and 2.30pm – 4.30pm
               (Monday  Thursday)
 
               9.00am – 12.00pm and 3.00pm – 4.30pm
               (Friday)
             *If you come before or after the operation hours, we would not be able to entertain you.
